CBS News reports a tremendous scandal on Palin's part-one of many the drive-by media myths perpetuated as fact-this time the crime is that Todd Palin's snowmachine team was being sponsored by Mystic Lubricants.
Big deal, I say. CBS makes note of the the fact that Mystic Lubricants was owned by Citgo, a company that is run by state of Venezuela. And the latter is run by the dictator Chavez, whom Sarah Palin has not had kind words for. Therefore, they conclude, Chavez has somehow endorsed Todd Palin and Sarah Palin.
This is asinine thinking. It is sort of like saying that because I pay taxes, and our tax money is used to fund (insert wasteful government program), therefore I support government waste. That's just bad logic. Or to use a more concrete example, because I voted for Bush, and he supported expansion of Medicare, therefore I support growth of socialistic government programs. That's nonsense.
I'm not going to comment on this further; CBS' thinking was faulty through and through and they reached inaccurate conclusions.
And by the way, Palingates is not an Alaskan blog, but is run by a couple of Europeans who also happen to be Trig Truthers. Wrong on that count too, CBS.
